About
Forrest Media Inc. was created in May 2007 as a locally owned, independent media outlet based in Phoenix, Arizona. It was formed with the intent of bringing back the idea of private, family-run media companies — the complete opposite of what is happening today in the journalism industry.
Idealistic? You bet. Realistic? We think so.
The company’s flagship publication is ZonieReport.com, a statewide multimedia news outlet for Arizona. It offers interactive and meaningful content on a variety of key topics to its readers, and affordable online advertising to Arizona businesses.
It also offers a variety of services, from Website and banner ad design to consulting and a speaker’s bureau. All of these are designed to get other Arizonans in the business and private sector an affordable option for getting their ideas online.
The company was founded by Adam Klawonn, a Phoenix native and seasoned journalist. His previous experience includes covering courts, crime, city halls, politics and wildfires for The Arizona Republic and city hall, education, energy and healthcare for The San Diego Union-Tribune. He was a member of the Union-Tribune’s Pulitzer Prize-winning team that wrote about corruption surrounding former Congressman Randall “Duke” Cunningham.
He is associate editor of PHOENIX magazine and teaches online journalism at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University. He is a member of the Society of Professional Journalists and Investigative Reporters & Editors, Inc.
