Running for Rocky Point children

Forrest Media president Adam Klawonn ran a sprint duathlon in Rocky Point last spring to benefit impoverished children of Puerto Penasco (”Rocky Point”), Mexico.
Unaware of the helmet rules, Klawonn was initially sidelined for 10 minutes before another race participant graciously loaned him his sweaty lid.
Then he set off on his mountain bike, completing a 10-mile stretch on Sandy Beach just north of Old Town, followed by a two-mile run up the beach to the finish line. He didn’t finish first, but sometimes, it’s a victory just to finish a duathlon.
Funds raised by the event supported Rocky Point children’s charities. It was held at the Princesa Resort & Condos.
